Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC)

The NAEMT Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) course teaches evidence-based, life-saving techniques for providing care in high-threat and civilian tactical environments. Based on the principles of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and adapted for civilian responders, TECC focuses on treating preventable causes of death while ensuring responder and patient safety.
Course Content Includes:
- Hemorrhage control, including tourniquet use and wound packing
- Airway management techniques for trauma patients
- Recognition and treatment of chest injuries
- Strategies for managing shock and preventing hypothermia
- Patient movement and evacuation techniques under threat conditions
- Medical decision-making in dynamic, high-stress environments
- Principles of direct threat, indirect threat, and evacuation care phases
Certification:
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a NAEMT TECC course completion certificate, valid for 4 years.
Who Should Take This Course:
EMS practitioners, firefighters, law enforcement officers, first responders, security personnel, and healthcare providers who may be called to respond to active threat or mass casualty situations.
Course Length: Approximately 16 hours (delivered over 2 days).
