Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) | Refresher
Important Note: This course is only available to students who have a current AHA ACLS Provider card. If your certification has lapsed, you are required to compelte an initial course.
The American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course builds on the foundation of Basic Life Support (BLS), emphasizing the recognition and management of cardiopulmonary arrest, acute arrhythmias, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes. The course highlights effective team dynamics, advanced interventions, and decision-making skills needed in critical situations.
Course Content Includes:
- High-quality CPR and early defibrillation
- Airway management (basic and advanced)
- Recognition and treatment of cardiac arrest rhythms (VF/pulseless VT, PEA, asystole)
- Management of bradycardia and tachycardia with and without a pulse
- Pharmacology for cardiovascular emergencies
- Effective team communication during resuscitation
- Post–cardiac arrest care
Certification:
Upon successful completion, participants will receive an AHA ACLS Provider eCard, valid for 2 years.
Who Should Take This Course:
Doctors, nurses, paramedics, advanced EMTs, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers who manage or respond to cardiovascular emergencies.
Course Length: Approximately 6 hours (depending on class size and experience)
